Eligibility criteria: The applicant must be a citizen of India and should have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or its equivalent examination. The general candidates must have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology taken together (40% for SC/ST candidates) and at least 30% marks in English (for all categories). In addition, candidates must secure at least pass marks in the subjects individually including vernacular (or any other fifth subject) as mentioned below

B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject

MBBS/BDS: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English and vernacular or any other fifth subject

For MBBS/BDS courses: In addition to the aforesaid eligibility criteria, the general candidates must have to secure at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biological Sciences taken together (40% for SC/ST) in the Joint Entrance Examination, West Bengal

Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in 2011 will be allowed to sit for JEM-2011 provisionally and their admission, if merit listed, will be subjected to satisfying the minimum requirements of eligibility as specified above

Age Relaxation: Candidates must be 17 (seventeen) years of age or above as on 31st December, 2011. There is no upper age limit except for the Marine Engineering course for which the upper age limit is 25 years as on 31st July, 2011

Residential requirements: Candidates desirous of seeking admission to govt Engineering/ technology colleges, govt Medical and Dental Colleges as well as to Private Medical and Dental Colleges, must have been residing in the state of West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 (ten) years as on 31st December, 2010 or their parents must be permanent resident of West Bengal having their permanent home address in the State of West Bengal

Reservation: Reservation for SC/ST/PC candidates as per state govt rules

Examination centre: To be located in West Bengal and Tripura

Cost of application form: The application kit (i.e. prescribed printed application form along with information brochure and a printed window envelope) will be available from different branches of united bank of India (as specified below) on payment of Rs 500/- (for E/M type form) and Rs 600/- (for C type form) in cash

The application kit may also be obtained by post from the board’s office on application with an additional fee of Rs 200/- (Rs two hundred) only. The total amount (i.e. cost of application form plus Rs 200/-) has to be paid by demand draft drawn in favour of West Bengal Joint entrance examination board payable at Howrah/Kolkata

The last date for request for application-kit by post: 15th December, 2010

Last date for receipt of completed application form by speed post only: 12th January, 2011

Request for application form received beyond the stipulated date as mentioned above will not be entertained and the board shall not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever for such non-receipt arising out of postal delay. The application kit may also be obtained from the board’s office only with payment of actual cost of the form plus late fee of Rs 300/- (Rs three hundred) only. The whole amount is to be paid through a bank draft to be drawn in favour of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board payable at Kolkata/Howrah from 01st January, 2011 to 07th January, 2011

The application form once purchased cannot be returned or replaced

How to apply: The duly filled in application form must be sent in the printed window envelope received by the candidate within the application kit by speed post only so as to reach the office of the board by 12th January, 2011

Submission of application form by hand or courier service will not be accepted

The Union Public Service Commission will hold the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2011 on 17th April, 2011 for admission to Army, Navy and Air Force Wings of NDA for 127th course and for the 89th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 30th December, 2011


Conditions of eligibility

Age limits, sex and marital status: Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1993 and not later than 1st July, 1995 are eligible
Educational qualifications

For Army Wing of National Defence Academy: 12th class pass of 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination conducted by a state education board or a university

For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy and for the 10+2 cadet entry scheme of the Indian Naval Academy: 12th class pass of the 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics, conducted by a state education board or a university

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th class under 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination can also apply for this examination

Physical standards: Candidate must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2011 as given in appendix-V of commission’s notice for the examination published in employment news/rozgar samachar dated 16th October, 2010

How to apply: Candidates may apply online using the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in, detailed instructions for filling up online applications are available on the abovementioned website

Candidates may also apply offline in the common application form devised by the commission for its examinations which can be purchased from the designated head post offices/post offices (specified in appendix-III of the notice) throughout the country against cash payment of Rs 20/- (Rs twenty only). Each such form can be used only once and only for one examination

In case of any difficulty in obtaining application forms from the designated HPOs/Pos, the candidates should immediately contact the concerned post master or UPSC’s forms supply monitoring cell over Tele 011-23389366/Fax 011-23387310

Fee: Candidates applying online are required to pay a reduced fee of Rs 25/- (Rs twenty-five only) either by remitting the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/master credit/debit card

Candidates applying offline (through common application form) are required to pay a fee of Rs 50/- (Rs fifty only) through central recruitment fee stamp only

AFMC All India Test for MBBS Admission in 2011

Applications are invited for admission to the MBBS course at Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, commencing from 01 Aug 2011

Total 130 candidates (including a maximum of 25 girls) will be selected. All the 105 boys and
25 girls admitted to Armed Forces Medical College, Pune have compulsory liability to serve as commissioned officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services on graduation. The type of commission will depend upon the vacancies available and merit-cum-option at the final MBBS examination. The liability of the Short Service Commission (SSC) officers passing out of AFMC to serve the Armed Forces Medical Services would be seven (7) years. All candidates admitted to the college are required to execute a bond to this effect for an amount of Rs. 15 lacs (Rupees Fifteen lacs) at the time of joining the college. Students removed from service liability due to any reason will have to pay the bond money as per conditions laid down by Govt of India.

Ten seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates who also have similar service liability and have to fulfil the requirements of medical fitness, age, educational qualification and qualifying the entrance examination as per details given in the prospectus

Special concessions: The Govt will provide free accommodation and entitled rations, subsidised messing, AC 3 Tier free railway warrant from college to home and back during vacations, a book subsidy of Rs. 12,000/- during entire training period, uniform allowance of Rs. 6000/- per student during first year and Rs. 1250/- per year as maintenance allowance in subsequent years and any other misc allowances as applicable

All candidates should be medically fit as per laid down standards for the Armed Forces

Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Marriage during the course is not permitted. The college is fully and compulsorily residential both for boys and girl

(b) Prospectus and application forms can also be obtained by post from Officer-in-Charge (Admission Cell), Armed Forces Medical College, Sholapur Road, Pune- 411 040 on payment of Rs. 250/- per copy, only by Bank Draft on any nationalized bank payable at Pune in favour of “Commandant, AFMC, Pune”, along with full postal address of the candidate on two separate slips of paper (size 9 cms x 5 cms). Please ensure that the Demand Draft bears the code number of the issuing bank. The candidate must write his/her name & address on the back of the Demand Draft. The candidate should enclose an application for obtaining prospectus and application form giving his/her particulars and address and enclose a self addressed envelope of 11” X 13” size and affix postage stamp of Rs. 55/-. Bank Drafts on any other banks other than nationalized banks, Money Orders, Cash or Postal Orders will not be accepted. Each request should be accompanied by a separate demand draft. Combined demand draft for more than one application will not be accepted. Request for prospectus to be sent by post will be accepted from Dec 2010 to 7th Feb 2011 upto 5 pm only.

(c) Application form and prospectus can also be downloaded from www.afmc.nic.in from Dec 2010 to 5th Feb 2011. Such forms, printed on A4 size glossy paper, duly completed in all respect along with a Crossed Demand Draft for a sum of Rs 250/- drawn in favour of “Commandant AFMC, Pune” on any nationalized bank payable at Pune be forwarded to AFMC Pune, so as to reach there not later than 05 Feb 2011 at 4 PM. The candidate must write his/her name & address on the back of the Demand Draft

(d) Completed forms must reach the officer-incharge (admissions cell), armed forces medical college, post office wanawadi, pune - 411040 by 5 pm on 05 February 2011

Disputes, if any, will fall within the jurisdiction of Pune (Maharashtra) only. AFMC will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in transit.

ELIGIBILITY AND QUALIFICATIONS TO APPEAR IN THE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION GENERAL

Educational qualification: Applicants must have passed the XII standard/pre-professional/ premedical examination or equivalent examination of statutory Indian University/Board or any other recognized Board/University as a regular student in all the subjects opted for in first attempt with the subjects of English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology securing not less than 60% of aggregate marks in the three science subjects taken together, not less than 50% marks in each of the science subjects and not less than 50% marks in English. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics at least of the matriculation standard. A graduate of B.Sc. examination with not less than two of the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany or Zoology) and also must have passed the earlier qualifying examination i.e. XII standard/Pre professional (Med) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English and obtained marks as stated above.

Note - (a) Candidates who are to appear in the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) upto 01 May 2011 may also appear for the test provisionally. (b) The following categories of students are not eligible to apply - (i) Candidates who have passed in Domestic Science, Domestic Arithmetic, Lower Maths separately or in combination with other subjects like General Science, Social studies in High School/Higher Secondary (Multi Purpose) or equivalent examination (ii) Candidates who have passed only Pre-University/Pre-Degree (one year course) or Pre-Professional in Agriculture/Veterinary/Dental Examination (iii) Candidates who have passed the Pre-Professional or equivalent qualifying examination as private candidates

Age limit:

There will be two categories for age criteria depending on academic qualifications: Academic qualification of the candidate 10+2 or equivalent; must have attained the age of 17 years on 31st December, 2011 but must not have attained the age of 22 years on that date i.e. must have been born not earlier than 01st January, 1990 and not later than 31st December, 1994

Academic qualifications of the candidate; passed B.Sc examination or appearing in final B.Sc examination; must not have attained the age of 24 years i.e. must have been born not earlier than 01st January, 1988. The criteria for marks in the qualifying examination (10+2) or equivalent will be same for candidates of this category

Method of selection: Candidates will be required to appear in the competitive written test of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Intelligence, Logic, Reasoning, English Language and Comprehension on 01 May 2011. The general standard of the entrance examination will be that of 11th and 12th class under the 10+2 scheme/pre-medical/intermediate science or an equivalent examination of the State Education Board/Indian University
Method of Selection:

    *
      Candidates who are found provisionally eligible as per the criteria of eligibility, will be called at one of the examination centres to appear in the competitive examination on 1st Sunday of May. Issue of admit cards. however does not necessarily mean acceptance of eligibility which will be further scrutinized at subsequent stages of selection.
    *
      The written examination centre will be allotted to candidates depending upon the administrative arrangements for the examination and availability of adequate seating capacity.
    *
      The Roll Number of the candidates who qualify for interview based on the above written examination will be published in the leading newspapers. The college/DGAFMS take no responsibility for any error or omission in the roll numbers published in the newspapers.
    * Results of candidates who have qualified for interview will be published in
      Employment News and Rozgar Samachar in the third week of May. This result will also be

ALL INDIA ENTRANCE EXAMINATION FOR ADMISSION TO MBBS/BDS COURSE, 2011 UNDER 15% MERIT POSITIONS IN MEDICAL/DENTAL COLLEGES
ADMISSION NOTICE 2011

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for All India Pre-Medical / Pre-Dental Entrance Examination (AIPMT) 2011to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, Delhi as per the following schedule for admission to 15% of the total seats for Medical/Dental Courses in all Medical/Dental Colleges run by the Union of India, State Governments, Municipal and other local authorities in India except in the States of ANDHRA PRADESH AND JAMMU &
KASHMIR :-
1. Preliminary Examination - 3rd April, 2011 (Sunday)
2. Final Examination - 15th May, 2011 (Sunday)

PATTERN OF EXAMINATION: BOTH PRELIMINARY AND FINAL EXAMINATION WOULD BE OBJECTIVE TYPE.
Eligibility for CBSE AIPMT 2011

(i) He/She has completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S./B.D.S. course and is an INDIAN NATIONAL.

(ii) The upper age limit for All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Entrance Examination is 25 years as on 31st December of the year of the entrance examination. Further provided that upper age limit shall be relaxed by a period of 5 (five) years for the candidates of Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes/Other Backward Classes.

(iii) The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Pre-Medical/Pre- Dental Entrance Examination shall be limited to 3 (three) uniformly for all the candidates.

(iv) The candidate must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination be 40% instead of 50% for General Candidates. Further, for persons for locomotory disability of lower limbs, the minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC-PH/ST-PH/OBC-PH are required. Those who are taking plus two examination in 2011 can also appear for the entrance test provisionally subject to their fulfilling the conditions later.

(v) 15% seats for SC candidates, 7.5% seats for ST candidates, 27% seats for non-creamy layer OBC candidates in Central Institutions only and 3% seats on horizontal basis for Physically Handicapped candidates are reserved in 15% All India Quota for MBBS/BDS courses.
